AFP Services, the global news agency’s on-demand institutional news subsidiary, is recruiting a TV journalist to produce video news packages on behalf of our institutional clients, among others the EU Commission and the European Parliament, in Brussels and Strasbourg. These news packages are mainly disseminated over the social networks and on the websites of the European institutions.

Under the supervision of an editor-in-chief, you will be carrying out research, selecting video material, writing and reviewing scripts for short news video formats and other longer video projects, preparing and conducting interviews, and occasionally pre-editing your own pieces. You will also write short texts for the web and social media on EU news.

 

Qualifications and competencies:

Good writing skills (TV news formats scripts combining voice over, short interview snippets and images)

BA in journalism, English or equivalent journalistic/editorial background

More specifically background in TV news journalism: writing and producing television news pieces, choosing the right images to tell powerful, engaging stories. Experience with social networks and social media videos.

Good English speaking and writing skills are a must.

Ability to deliver under pressure of daily deadlines

Ability to work in a multilingual environment: understanding French and being able to translate from French into English. Knowledge of other EU languages a clear advantage.

Basic knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro

The position is to be filled as soon as possible. No payment for relocation.
