Accra – January 24thRSVP Now

Drone technology is among the growing and rapidly evolving technologies. This technology has been proven beyond imagination to be very valuable in many industries like military, business, and recently in medical supplies. Flying drones lately carry life-or-death medical supplies between hospitals and locations. A huge sum of money is getting invested in this segment, and so far, the primary outcome is indeed promising. Drones in the medical supply chain are getting a lot of attention and around the world, many technology companies are now teaming up with health organizations to explore the use of drones in solving longstanding challenges to health care delivery.

In Africa for instance, drones were flown from remote health centers to a hospital in Kerema, a regional capital in Papua, New Guinea. Recently, Zipline, a US-based Tech Company started working in Rwanda to begin using medical drones in transporting blood and other supplies to remote areas.

According to the Ministry of Health, the government of Ghana seeks to explore such innovative ways to make universal health care available to every Ghanaian in a timely manner irrespective of location.

In January 2019, the Accra Tech Salon will focus this innovation in the healthcare supply chain of the country and its added value for the sector.

Thought leaders from government agencies, ministries and IT institutions among others will for the 2-hour period deliberate on such issues as:

  • What is drone technology and how is it being used elsewhere?
  • How has drone technology helped in general service delivery?
  • How effective is its use in the Health service delivery chain?
  • How can Ghana gain from this innovation?

Please RSVP now to join key stakeholders and thought leaders from government agencies, civil society, academia and technologists among other experts with discussions to be led by:

  • Kwamena Hazel, Aeroshutter Drones
  • Sam Quarshie, Ghana Health Service
  • Zipline Ghana

We’ll have hot coffee and catered breakfast treats for a morning rush, but seating is limited. Once we reach our 30-person capacity there will be a waiting list!
