Empowering Ghanaian Youth Against Disinformation (EGYAD) Project
The Empowering Ghanaian Youth Against Disinformation project is a national initiative by Penplusbytes aimed at strengthening democratic resilience by equipping young people with media and information literacy skills, digital tools, and platforms to counter disinformation. Through the development of a digital civic-intelligence and prebunking platform, youth training programmes, community dialogues, microgrants, and nationwide media campaigns, the project empowers over 600 young Ghanaians while fostering collaboration between civil society and community media. By combining technology, youth leadership, and grassroots engagement, the project contributes to reducing the spread of harmful information and promoting a more informed, peaceful, and resilient democratic society.
