Position Overview:

The Partnerships and Sustainability Manager will lead efforts to establish and maintain strategic partnerships that drive the sustainability of the organization’s programs and initiatives. Reporting to the Executive Director, this role is crucial in ensuring long-term growth through relationship building, resource mobilization, and the development of innovative funding strategies aligned with the organization’s strategic goals.

 

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Partnership Development: Identify, cultivate, and maintain partnerships with key stakeholders including donors, corporations, NGOs, and government agencies.
  2. Donor Relationship management: Lead negotiations and develop agreements, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and donor requirements.
  3. Fundraising and Resource Mobilization: Develop and execute fundraising strategies to secure diverse and sustainable funding sources. Also, lead the preparation of proposals and grant applications in collaboration with program teams.
  4. Sustainability Planning and Implementation: Lead the development of long-term sustainability plans for the organization’s programs, ensuring their financial and operational viability.
  5. Networking and Stakeholder Engagement: Represent the organization at relevant conferences, workshops, and networking events to promote partnership opportunities.
  6. Database Management: Maintain a database of contacts and manage stakeholder communications to ensure ongoing engagement and support.

 

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing Communications, Public Relations or a related area.
  • Master’s Degree (preferred or advantageous) in Business Administration (MBA), Sustainable Development, or Nonprofit Management.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in marketing, partnerships, or related roles, preferably within the nonprofit sector or civic tech industry.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for presentations, reports, and negotiations.
  • Ability to develop and implement strategies for partnerships and sustainability.
  • Fundraising and Grant Writing Skills in securing funding and managing grants (with a proven record to show)
  • Ability to assess the impact of partnerships and sustainability initiatives.
  • Understanding and respecting diverse cultures, particularly in international settings.
  • Understanding of budgeting, financial management, and resource allocation.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to cultivate and maintain partnerships with external stakeholders.
  • Project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
  • Passion for civic technology, social innovation, and community empowerment.
