Ghana Commission for UNESCO Secretary-General Pays Courtesy Visit to Penplusbytes

On Monday, 18th July 2025, Dr. Osman Tahidu Damba, Secretary-General of the Ghana Commission for UNESCO, paid a courtesy visit to Penplusbytes in Osu, Accra, where he interacted with management and staff.

Penplusbytes’ management warmly welcomed Dr. Damba and expressed deep appreciation for the Ghana Commission for UNESCO’s continuous partnership and support. Management reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to advancing media literacy, civic engagement, and youth empowerment in Ghana, noting that UNESCO’s collaboration has been instrumental in driving impact at the community level.

Dr. Damba commended the organisation for its vibrant work environment, noting how impressed he was to see every staff member actively engaged upon his surprise visit. He applauded Penplusbytes for delivering on key project milestones under the ongoing partnership with the Ghana Commission for UNESCO, including the Civic Engagement and Social Responsibility initiative under the Building Media Literacy and Empowering Rural Youth in Ghana project.

As a valued partner, the Ghana Commission for UNESCO continues to support our mission of strengthening democracy and good governance. Together, we are empowering young people through MIL education, which is amplifying media literacy conversations across the country.

Dr. Damba encouraged staff to continue working hard and to be proud ambassadors of Penplusbytes wherever they find themselves. The visit ended on a note of mutual appreciation and a renewed determination to create lasting impact in communities across Ghana.
